HILL STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND BRIDGE
Piedmont Geotechnical Consultants (PGC) performed a subsurface exploration for a street improvement project including replacement of a bridge over Cabin Creek in Griffin, Georgia. The bridge consisted of a heavy concrete arch culvert partially supported on rock and partially supported on driven H piles where differential settlement and bridge scour were considerations.
During the construction, PGC engineers and technicians performed inspections and testing that included:
- Foundations, including driven H piles
- Construction dewatering and undercutting of unsuitable material
