LIFE UNIVERSITY STUDENT HOUSING
Life University constructed a new student housing development on its campus located in Marietta, Georgia. The project consisted of a 99,926 sq.-ft. four-story student housing/dining facility building with approximately 360 student residences, a 600-seat dining capacity and new parking/drives.
The structure consists of a cast-in-place concrete podium, adjacent structural steel dining facility with a slab-on-grade supported on a shallow foundation system. The elevated podium slab was post-tensioned with concrete column support. The remainder of the structure was wood framed with exterior facade of synthetic stone, cement siding and metal wall panels.
Piedmont Geotechnical Consultants provided the subsurface exploration, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessment, foundation design recommendations as well as construction materials testing, IBC special inspections and NPDES services.
